What data we process when you visit the site or write to us, why, for how long, and what rights you have.
Who we are
The controller for the website banquedorient.net is the Banque d'Orient Shareholders' Community. The site is administered on its behalf by one of its members, Eleftherios Rinos. Contact for any personal-data matter: [email protected].
We are not a bank. We take no deposits, offer no banking or investment services and never ask for bank details, passwords or money.
What data we process
Technical data of the visit. Like every server, ours records the IP address, time, requested page and browser. These logs are used only to run and secure the site and are deleted automatically after 52 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in secure operation (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Correspondence. If you email us, we process your name, address and the content of your message in order to reply. We keep them as long as our correspondence requires and delete them when you ask, unless they must be kept to defend legal claims. Legal basis: your request and our legitimate interest in replying (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f)).
Choices stored on your device. Your cookie choice and your accessibility settings are stored only in your browser (local storage). They are not sent to us.
Video from YouTube. The video on the documentary page loads from YouTube only if you choose so. Your browser then connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw under "Cookie settings".
What we do not do
We use no analytics or advertising tools, build no visitor profiles, and sell or share data with no one. The fonts are hosted on our own server, so browsing does not connect you to third parties.
In the documents we publish we have masked the names and addresses of private bearers. If you find your own details in a document, write to us and we will mask them.
Who else is involved
Contabo GmbH (Germany): hosts our server, within the European Union.
Cloudflare, Inc.: sits in front of the site as a delivery and protection network and routes messages sent to [email protected]. Cloudflare may process data outside the EU, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Google (YouTube): only if you choose to load the video.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to us at [email protected]; we reply within one month (GDPR Article 12(3)).
You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, 1-3 Kifisias Avenue, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr.
This policy applies the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Greek Law 4624/2019. If the way we process data changes, we will update this page and its date.
