The documentary follows the story from the founding of 1904 to the courtrooms: the people behind the bank, the branches in Egypt and Asia Minor, interwar Greece and the decision to merge, the liquidators and the order to stop, the war, the shares that changed hands in Paris, London and Cairo, and the truths and rumours around the bank's name.
Its guide is the documents. The facsimiles shown on this site are the ones that appear on screen.
