What this site is, and what it is not

We are not a bank.

We are the Banque d'Orient Shareholders' Community, holders of shares in a bank that stopped operating in 1932. We take no deposits, offer no banking or investment services and sell no shares or bonds.

This site presents a civil case: bearer shareholders of the Banque d'Orient, in Greece and abroad, ask the National Bank of Greece to honour the terms of the 1932 merger contract.

The case has nothing to do with Artemis Sorras, the "600 billion" claims or any "Banque d'Orient bonds". Those claims were false; the people behind this site investigated and publicly refuted them.

Every statement here rests on a document filed in court or held in a public archive.

Six documents from official records

NBG's position is that the liquidation ended on 28 December 1936 and that the bank has not existed since. The documents below come from the Greek State, from foreign authorities and from NBG itself.
